Bob and
Barbara Petker fell in love with traveling when they were educators for
American students in Europe.
When they returned home to Bakersfield, they continued their careers - Bob as a choral music teacher for the
Kern High School District and church choir
director and Barbara as an elementary school teacher and church organist. They began leading summer tours in 1969
and have organized tours to Europe or the
South Pacific almost every year since then.
After
retiring from teaching in 1992, the Petkers have led four
or five tours or cruises each
year. Bob plans the itinerary and researches every aspect
of the tour, dealing directly with each airline, hotel, bus company and
guide. The result is a one-of-a-kind, high quality tour at a very
